Lungu, Dan
Dan Lungu, born in Botosani in 1969, lives today in Iasi in northeast Romania. He writes novels, poems and plays, and lectures in sociology at the university in Iasi. He is editor of the magazine Au Sud de l'Est (Paris). In 1996 he founded "Club 8" with other young Romanian authors, which among other things contests the inequitable distribution of state funds in Romanian literary circles. Two of his books have appeared in German: Das Hühner-Paradies. Ein falscher Roman aus Gerüchten und Geheimnissen (Chicken Heaven. A False Novel of Rumour and Mystery) and Klasse Typen (Classy Types) (Vienna: Residenz Verlag, 2007).
