Le Jeudi

The growing importance of the banking sector and European institutions in Luxembourg attracted new workers to the country throughout the 1990s. This potential new readership was often fluent in French, but not in German. This prompted the media group Editpress to found Luxembourg's first French-language weekly as a means of including immigrants in public debate. The first edition promised to better integrate foreigners into Luxembourgish society by keeping them up to date on events in the country.
