Pravda

Before the Velvet Revolution Pravda was the central organ of the Communist Party of Slovakia, the equivalent of the Soviet Communist Party paper Prawda. After the revolution it formed close ties with the party of the democratic Left, the Social Democratic Party, which took over from the Communist Party. The paper vies with Sme for the title of Slovakia's leading quality newspaper.
