The Guardian

This decidedly left-wing paper follows the motto "Comments are free, but facts are sacred". The Guardian lays claim to being the leader of opinion among the British dailies of the left-wing spectrum. The online edition of the paper is regarded as particularly successful and serves as a model for other media (for example the German weekly Freitag). The Guardian fiercely defends the position that access to its online content should remain free of charge.
