Frankfurter Rundschau

The Frankfurter Rundschau ran into financial difficulties in 2003, and in May 2004 the SPD's media holding DDVG took over 90 percent of the shares in the paper. In 2006, the Cologne-based publisher DuMont Schauberg acquired 51 percent of the shares plus a vote. The newspaper is still making losses and is steadily losing subscribers.
