Süddeutsche Zeitung
The SZ is Germany's largest national subscription newspaper. After the newspaper crisis in 2000 it was forced to dismiss many of its editors, close down regional editions and supplements and sell some of its stock. It is now making a profit once more. Since 2008 the Südwestdeutsche Medien Holding has owned 81.25 percent of the Süddeutsche Verlag, which publishes the SZ.
