Financial Times Deutschland

The Financial Times Deutschland was founded under the supervision of the former editor-in-chief of the British Financial Times, Andrew Gowers. It created a stir in 2002 when it made recommendations on which party to vote for, as Anglo-Saxon newspapers tend to do. Until 2008, the FTD was a joint enterprise between the Gruner und Jahr publishing house and the British Pearson Publishing Group. Gruner und Jahr became the sole owner in January 2008. This means the FTD is indirectly owned by the Bertelsmann AG media group.
