The film 'Indigenes' denounces an historical injustice

Two days before the release of the film 'Indigenes', the daily dedicated its front page to this feature film that tells the story of soldiers come from the colonies (North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa) to fight for France during the Second World War. Fighters who, after the end of de-colonization, were only entitled to very low pensions. "It is the privilege of artists to allow what others have been repeating in vain for a long time to finally be heard", writes Gerard Dupuy. "In the case of Indigenes, which has put the question of pension issues back on the agenda. This demand and the film's topic are complimentary. The latter aims to re-establish first of all, in the collective memory of the Nation, the place that belongs to the colonized and secondly, in the memory of their descendants their due place in French roots."
