The slackening of the Italian law on cannabis
"It is a responsible decision", considers the editorialist Valentini Giovanni concerning the slackening in Italy of the law on cannabis possession. The maximum quantity of Marijuana considered as serving personal use, without bringing on penal sanctions or prison sentences will be increased to one gram, to the dismay of the opposition. "There is no doubt that the world would be a better place without drugs, prostitution, tobacco and alcohol, all the more so without illegal traffic, exploitation, smuggling and all the resulting delinquency. But what is the use of prohibiting, criminalising, when we all know very well that, since Adam and eve were chased from Paradise, the more you forbid, the more you feed temptation and curiosity."
