Hungary's political crisis
The renowned Hungarian writer Peter Esterhazy deplores the political division in Hungary and the lack of social cohesion: "As far as politics are concerned there's the left, or rather the Hungarian parody of the left, which displays a certain indifference regarding traditions, claiming that we need to leave the past behind us and look to the future. The magic word 'progress' is muttered timidly. The right, or rather the parody of the right, is deluding itself when it claims that there are no problems with the past, and that we – and only we – are its honourable owners and everything would be alright if the left stopped complaining about it. We can only assume responsibility if we do so in unison."
