Airbus can benefit from a critical situation
The announcement on Wednesday, January 17th, of further disappointment for Airbus, which is losing its status as the world's number one in the sector, does not shake the editorialist Gilles Sengès' faith in the aircraft manufacturer's ability to redress its situation. "Overcoming national reflexes in order to construct a new, totally integrated Airbus ... is not something that can be done in a day. Especially as doubt is hovering over both sides of the Rhine and the electoral context that France will be living in over the coming months is not the best environment for carrying out a reorganisation that is bound to be painful. But those in charge of the European aircraft manufacturer have a few advantages on their side. ... Its products are still of high quality. ... Above all, in the short term, it has the advantage of a very favourable conjuncture. The demand for planes has never been so big and only Boeing is in a position to respond to it."
