The difficult mission in the hands of Airbus president

"How to create a psychological shock without provoking too much social or political upheaval in France, Germany, Great Britain and in Spain, where most of the Airbus factories are based ? This is the main problem that needs to be resolved by Louis Gallois, the director of the European aircraft manufacturer, with his cost-reduction plan due to be presented to unions on Tuesday, February 20th", says the editorialist Gilles Sengès. "A shake-up is essential in order to re-establish the competitiveness of the manufacturer, which was seriously hindered by the catastrophic management of the A 380 jumbo jet program. ... Over the past few weeks, the prospect of redevelopment and economic redundancy has provoked an outcry among unions and politicians in all of the countries concerned. Putting its liberalism aside, London was not the last to proclaim 'economic patriotism', all the rage in Germany, and to threaten Airbus with retaliation if the British factories were to be touched. ... Louis Gallois may well find himself standing alone, up against everyone else."
