Eurovision Satisfies Russia's Hunger
Czech Daily Lidove noviny comments as follows on Russia's triumph at the Eurovision Song Contest: "There is no reason to begrudge Russia's success in such an inoccuous discipline as this trashy pseudo-contest of music - and the same applies to winning the ice hockey world championships or the UEFA Cup. Aspirations in the worlds of sport or culture might serve to quench the imperialist ambitions Moscow has in far more dangerous areas - in military or economic arenas. Russia could become a silent power."
