Le Corbusier, painter and sculptor
The Rath Musuem of Geneva is hosting the most significant exhibition to date devoted to the paintings and sculptures of the Swiss architect, Le Corbusier. "We pretend to know about his career as an architect. But we know even less about him as a painter and sculptor. ... Following several snubs, [Le Corbusier] had decided to keep his activities in the visual arts under wraps." Nonetheless, he painted for four hours every morning. "We would like to see the visitor come away with a sense of this man's richness, his talent for creation, the proliferation of ideas and creativity that he never stopped demonstrating," Naïma Jornod, who is co-curating the exhibition with her husband, Jean-Pierre Jornod, explains to the daily.
