Unknown Lithuania

Virginijus Savukynas assesses foreigners' knowledge of Lithuania two years after the country joined the EU. "When I ask foreigners what they know about Lithuania, at least a fair number of them know it borders on the Baltic Sea, but they always mix up the capital cities of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Others know intuitively that Lithuania is a Central European state, but they don't know exactly where it is. Some even think Lithuania is a Balkan state... For a decade now, people have been talking about creating an image for Lithuania, but what's that image supposed to look like?"
