Depression in Davos
A depressed mood has taken hold at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the conservative daily Lidové noviny writes. "The participants at the Forum did not receive bags full of gifts, as they used to. Managers are getting used to life without a chauffeur. A company that flies participants by helicopter from Zurich to Davos has reported that single-engine helicopters, which rent out for 5,000 francs less than the faster models, are in high demand. ... We can't expect Davos to produce any miracles. There are too many people there who had a hand in creating the current crisis and now don't know how to get out of it."
