Klaus's performance at the European Parliament
The left-wing daily Právo comments on the speech delivered by Václav Klaus in the European Parliament yesterday in which the Czech President listed all the reasons for his antipathy towards the European Union: "We are fortunate to have a president who has an answer to the problems that are causing headaches all over the world. … It is incredible that Klaus doesn't recognise the need for integration. But then it's also a mystery why he acts the way he acts. Perhaps because no one has proposed him for president of the EU? … His fans gave him standing ovations. The chamber was already half empty and then those who had had enough also left. They had expected nothing different of this aging clown – and they were right."
