The International Poster Biennial in Warsaw
Dorota Jarecka is delighted about the 150 young artists making their debut at the 20th International Poster Biennial in Warsaw. "Young Polish artists are often strongly influenced by Poland's rich poster tradition, by Henryk Tomaszewski or Jan Mlodozenie. They use painters' techniques, random splotches of colour, letters and drawings. The young Germans take a very different approach. They stick to the principles of Russian constructivism as if they were back in the 1920s, when El Lissitzky was travelling through Germany with his photo montages."
