A convenient double-standard

The daily Dnevnik criticises the international community's relations with other countries possessing nuclear weapons: "Above all the US's inconsistent policy on Pakistan makes it crystal clear that it pays to play the nuclear weapons game. The country that never signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and which even helped North Korea develop its arsenal is (like Israel) rewarded by Washington with huge sums of money for its arms build-up. First under the Bush government and now under Obama, Pakistan has received around seven billion dollars as part of the war on terror since 2001. Recently David Albright, the former inspector for the International Atomic Energy Agency's Action Team, let it be known that the money was used in part to build two new reactors and hence to help develop Pakistan's nuclear arsenal."
