EU is the sole opponent of the Bulgarian government
The EU Commission presents its progress report on Bulgaria and Romania today, Wednesday. The daily Dnevnik writes that criticism of the lack of progress made in the areas of justice, organised crime and corruption applies to the old government and that the new government under Boyko Borisov will have to start from scratch: However "it wouldn't be surprising if the next reports of the EU Commission become more interesting again. Brussels is once again presenting itself as the sole opponent of those in government. As the voice society will deign to listen to. For it has already become clear that Borisov has no intention of sharing power with anyone else and that he will use his current strength to drive his alleged partners into a corner. … Borisov is not striving for total power simply out of self interest. He wants to be the only competent authority in the political arena."
