Women not made for professional success
The conservative daily Rzeczpospolita asks why more and more women in Poland are becoming alcoholics: "Only a decade ago there was only one female alcoholic for every ten male alcoholics - today the ratio is one in five. Whereas addiction to alcohol is something that mainly afflicts the unemployed and so-called non-working people ... the women who turn to drink are generally those from the highest social circles. Researchers have therefore concluded that the addiction is based on excessive stress and tension as the 'price for success.' Or put more simply: Men drink when they are unsuccessful in their careers, women drink when they succeed. Men succumb to alcohol because they feel unfulfilled and worthless without this success. And women because they cannot reconcile such a high position with their lives. For work deprives women of emotional stability and security in life. ... From this we can draw the not very politically correct conclusion that women are not made for professional success."
