Obama has triggered an earthquake
Commenting on US President Barack Obama's decision to dispense with a missile shield in Central Eastern Europe the daily Postimees writes: "Obama has triggered an earthquake that registers seven on the Richter scale in Estonia. Nato's rejection of the membership plan for Georgia hit five on the scale, and the Georgian war six. … Eastern Europe simply has a different perspective here. Russia senses new opportunities in the wake of the US's submission, and this is a problem for us despite all the US's assurances. We must fear that Russia will now feel encouraged to provoke us because it can safely conclude that the eastern Nato members are a relative rather than an absolute factor for the US. Many top members of the US military already believe that the accession of the Baltic states was premature because the alliance was not equipped to defend them. And now Obama has said exactly the same thing."
