Lisbon Treaty is good for everyone
With regard to the Irish referendum the liberal daily Gazeta Wyborcza stresses the benefits of the EU Reform Treaty: "The Treaty of Lisbon is good for Ireland, good for Poland and good for the entire European Union - and its citizens. For everyone. Certainly, it has its drawbacks, but these are largely outweighed by the positive elements. According to the EU these elements include a president of the Council of Ministers with a 'full time job', replacing the former system of six-month national presidencies. This 'President of the Union' elected for two and a half years (half of the legislative period of the European Parliament and the European Commission) will improve the daily functioning of the Union."
