Romanian government crisis is just shadow theatre
After Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc dismissed his social democratic Minister for the Interior Dan Nica nine social democratic ministers have resigned their posts in the coalition government with the liberal democrats. The daily Evenimentul Zilei comments on the collapse of the government two months ahead of the country's presidential elections: "Beyond the political scene an even more intense war is raging between police factions and our numerous secret services. … In Romania he who controls the dark world of the secret services unfortunately also controls the government. … Like all previous elections this year's presidential elections will just be another episode in this battle. We shouldn't delude ourselves: what we see is purely shadow theatre and we can't know whose hands are moving behind the screen. All we see is that this is a bad show and that the directors are mediocre."
