France needs dedicated journalists
With an eye to this year's survey Sofres-La Croix survey on the reliability of the media, the Catholic daily La Croix argues for greater commitment on the part of journalists: "In all projections on the future of the media, Internet and free-of-charge publications make up a large part of what people will be reading, to the detriment of the established newspapers. Yet this world, with its sorrows and its joys, is our own. Our mission? To show it for what it is, to decipher its mysteries, to make ourselves the spokespersons of those whose voices are barely heard, to put current events into perspective ... to neglect futile polemics and report on important debates. In short, to admire and enthuse. The work of dedicated journalists is more necessary than it has ever been before."
