Hungary before a political earthquake
The first round of Hungary's parliamentary elections will take place this Sunday. The liberal daily Sme writes that the vote is set to devastate the current party system: "The advantage Hungary has over Haiti or Chili is that the earthquake set to rock the country on Sunday won't come out of the blue. But that's where the differences end. The agencies that measure tectonic shift are uninamous that the Hungarian earthquake will reach at least 8.0 on the Richter scale. Not only will the Hungarian elections usher in another government, they're going to shatter the entire political system built up over the last 20 years. ... There will be a shift to the right unparalleled in Europe. ... On Sunday the whole party system will crumble. And that's just the beginning."
