Nationalists use facebook
The Facebook social networking site has far more nationalists than federalists among its users in Central European states, Martin Ehl of the economic paper Hospodářské noviny observes: "In virtual life as in real life, national identity carries more weight. The Facebook group 'I am Slovakian and proudof it' has 138,942 members. But the group of the Bratislava-based International Visegrád Foundation, which has a quite interesting sum of money to finance various projects in the Visegrád states [Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland], has only 110 friends. Yet I would venture to say that more than 138,942 proud Slovaks have profited from this foundation's generosity. ... Actually, German Facebook users don't have any interest in Central Europe either. There is only one Facebook group with the name 'Mitteleuropa.' It was founded by an Italian historical society based in Venice. And it has only 274 fans."
