Western egoism destabilises Kosovo
The member of the Council of Europe Dick Marty has accused the Kosovar Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi in a report of trading with the organs of Serbian prisoners after the Kosovo War. The daily Dnevnik asks what political strategy might lie behind such an attempt to further destabilise an already chaotic Kosovo: "Just what Europe has been aiming for since the recognition of Kosovo's sovereignty is not entirely clear. Just like during the Bosnian War, European and American politicians can't agree on how to divide up the cake between them. For that reason any serious attempt to resolve the situation without them is subverted. As the Western countries' business interests reach as far as Albania, there too the law is not interpreted all too rigorously. ... It's time to tell the Western fanatics of justice who never stop shaking their heads when the subject of the Balkans comes up that they're not entirely innocent of what's happening there today. Because they themselves backed this or that controversial figure when it suited their interests. For that reason they're in no position to preach on moral matters."
