Media law no reason for panic
The pro-government, right-wing conservative daily Magyar Nemzet finds all the fuss about the controversial Hungarian media law exaggerated: "Critics of the law shot from the hip, immediately branding it an instrument for restricting democracy and erecting an autocratic power structure. And in so doing they received loud international support. The fronts hardened, not least because one side simply rejected the law. But the accusations that came raining down upon our homeland in relation to the law - dictator Orbán, the next Lukashenko; ... our country is intolerant and anti-Semitic; Orbán's government is reminiscent of 1930s Germany - must be rejected in no uncertain terms. It's clear to everyone that blatant exaggeration and slander can never lead to reasonable debate."
