Petrol prices too high for Romania
According to a Eurostat study, the price for petrol of the type Eurosuper 95 has risen by 122 percent in the past 13 months in Romania. It was selling for 1.26 euros per litre at the beginning of the week. Given that the average net income in Romania is 340 euros this is too much, the daily Gândul concludes: "The rising price of petrol can only be hindered by systematically boycotting sales, changing to different suppliers or simply not using the car. The consumer must show the major petrol producers and petrol stations that such price hikes are not worthwhile. ... And those who make their products and services more expensive must understand that we live in Romania, a country where most people still live on the same low salary. Consumption would sink so rapidly that they could no longer do anything about it: first they would sell less, then nothing at all and then they'd have to close their doors."
