Badly paid women have themselves to blame
The demand for equal pay voiced by women on Equal Pay Day in Switzerland last Tuesday is unfounded, writes the conservative weekly Die Weltwoche, saying that the market pays according to performance: "What those who denounce capitalism haven't understood is that the market does not discriminate on the basis of gender, hair colour, background or religion. It discriminates on the basis of performance. If you perform well you earn more, if you perform poorly you earn less. Those who feel they are poorly paid should look for a new boss. No woman working in Switzerland was forced to sign her working contract. If she accepted less pay than a man who does the same job she doesn't need the wage police, she needs a better negotiating technique."
