Media monster Murdoch
There are certainly parallels between the business practices of US media tycoon Rupert Murdoch and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, according to the conservative daily Rzeczpospolita, whereby Murdoch comes off worse: "Both gentlemen are engaged in a similar business. Using his tabloid Murdoch traded in news that he had obtained illegally and immorally. The journalists who work for him hacked into the mobile phones of stars and crime victims and paid money for the intimate details of politicians' private lives. Assange on the other hand paid to gain access to the confidential correspondence of US diplomats which had been stolen from the State Department. Millions of internet users were able to click onto information that otherwise would never have seen the light of day. ... And now it's Murdoch who is the black sheep - a media monster who brings calamity on humanity."
