Eastern Germany waiting for new settlers
More and more Poles are leaving their country for Eastern Germany, filling up the gaps left by the Eastern Germans who have immigrated to the West, notes the conservative daily Lidové noviny and recommends that Czechs also take this path: "The pace at which Eastern Germans are moving west is unprecedented. ... The massive transfer of money from the west to the east, coupled with the construction of a cutting edge infrastructure offers Czechs and Poles a wonderful opportunity to 'colonise' this area. Poles in particular have already begun to take advantage of this, living in Germany and working in Poland. In this way a Central Europe in which the borders are frequently blurred is making a comeback. One reason more for the Czechs to rid themselves of their inferiority complex regarding the Germans and Germany."
