Slovenia's artists used the occasion of the awarding of the country's most prestigious culture prize on Prešeren Day, the Slovenian Cultural Holiday, to demonstrate against the new conservative government's scrapping of the Ministry of Culture. This was yet another confirmation of the fact that as we have long known the gap between 'us' and 'the others' is unfortunately an incorrigible and timeless phenomenon."
