UK scorns Romania and Bulgaria
As of January 2014 unlimited labour migration will also apply for Romania and Bulgaria. The British Home Secretary Theresa May announced her opposition to the move at the start of October, letting it be known that Britain would introduce visa requirements for Bulgarians and Romanians. May is only expressing what many other EU countries don't dare say, the daily Sega writes: "Formally Bulgaria and Romania are to remain in the EU (after all, they can't just be expelled), but their citizens are to be kept away through new visa restrictions. So the Dutch can finally breathe a sigh of relief about the Schengen enlargement, the French can expel the Roma they find so repulsive and the British need not fear that the Bulgarians and Romanians will steal their low-paid jobs. The EU Commission will also be happy in secret, because it is starting to get embarrassed about having to defend the rights of the Bulgarians and Romanians while at the same time asking the rich donor countries - who look down in repugnance at their poor EU relatives - for more funds for the EU budget."
