The Alliance of Civilizations is presenting its first conclusions

The group that has been given the task of promoting an 'Alliance of Civilizations' between the West and the Muslim world presented on Monday, November 13th, to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, propositions highlighting the necessity to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict. "The Spanish government has invested a big part of its international political capital in this Alliance project over the past few years. It is highly probable that the report will benefit from a lot of support thanks to the basic principles and considerations that it refers to and are commonly accepted. But the problem is that, because of its general character, it risks not being taken into account by the new Secretary General as of January 1st, 2007, without leaving any trace in the piles of the norms and texts of the international community."
