Success of negotiations important

The Polish Environment Minister Maciej Nowicki writes in the daily Gazeta Wyborcza: "The impact of climate change can be felt every day - even in Poland, floods, droughts and hurricanes are taking on the dimensions of natural disasters. It is therefore vital for everyone that the talks at the climate summit should be successful. ... The success of these negotiations is of key importance - for us and for the rest of the world. ... I have observed with concern that there are still sceptics who believe that climate change is just a myth and the result of some ill-defined lobbying initiative. For my part I believe in the results of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which was compiled by thousands of scientists across the globe. They indicate that climate change is a fact and that it is 'highly probable that humans are responsible for it'."
