Criticism of police treatment of opponents to the Bologna process

After four months in which opponents to the Bologna process had occupied part of the University of Barcelona, the police have now evacuated the building. The daily La Vanguardia criticises the harshness of the police and fears the situation may escalate: "We shouldn't forget that the university has profound problems which could add grist to the protesters' mill on the long term, and even spark excessive protests. Nor can the police solve any of these problems. Our society does not need or deserve the kind of institution represented by an evacuated university."
