To remain silent is to lie
Writing for the right-wing conservative online paper Libertad Digital José García Domínguez accuses Columbian singer Juanes of bolstering the Cuban regime with his concert in Cuba. "Cuba," he writes, "is a system which unlike other dictatorships does not even conceive of a private life beyond communal obligations, and which does not even tolerate mere indifference from its subjects. Because it's not enough for it to know it is obeyed: it demands that its victims love it. That's why in a state which spends 24 hours a day trying to colonise consciences everything, without exception, is politics. And that's why in Havana to remain silent is to lie. That's all there is to it, dear Juanes."
