G20 summit leaves a feeling of unease
The daily Le Monde dedicates its leading article to the results of the G20 summit that took place last week in Pittsburgh: "Of course there is good news in the G20 summit's communiqué. The growing strength of the emerging markets within the IMF, the priority of the G20 over the G8 in economic and aid matters: all of that is positive. Even the continuation of recovery policies is worth mentioning. It proves that the leaders harbour no illusions about the recovery which some believe they see on the horizon. Nevertheless one can only feel a certain unease even after the Pittsburgh summit, precisely because the current crisis is not just a surprise incident, but the consequence of fundamental disorder in the global economy."
