The West two-faced on Egyptian elections
The party of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak won almost 95 percent of the vote in last weekend's elections. The daily Upsala Nya Tidning criticises the two-faced attitude of the West concerning Mubarak's leadership: "The good democrats, those who could barely contain their anger over the fraud in Iran, can now hardly be bothered to express more than mild disappointment over their friend Egypt. These blatant double standards sully the very concept of democracy and undermine the credibility of the responsible states. It's no wonder Western foreign policy is not particularly appreciated in the Middle East."
