Bulgarians suffer from healthcare system
In an EU-wide comparison Bulgarians pay most for their healthcare in proportion to their incomes, yet receive the worst medical treatment in return, the daily Novinar writes, basing its remarks on a survey carried out by the World Health Organisation. "Every one of us can confirm that the prices we pay for medical care are in no way commensurate with the services rendered. The worst thing is that fewer and fewer people can afford medical care at all. Many must decide whether to spend their money on food or medication. Such high expenditures necessarily lower our already meagre social status. The feeling of social decline is intensified when with a trembling hand you have to give the last crumbs of your salary over to a doctor who treats you like a prison inmate in return."
