True Finn wants military junta in Greece
The MP for the right-wing populist True Finns party, Jussi Halla-aho, posted a message on Facebook on Wednesday saying that what Greece needs is a military junta that can keep the demonstrators in check with tanks if necessary. Halla-aho is now facing suspension from the party. The liberal daily Helsingin Sanomat suspects there will be further conflict within the organisation: "It doesn't matter that Halla-aho quickly erased his Greece comments on Wednesday and explained that he had only wanted to point 'in his own style' to the difficulties with democracy. ... What's most extraordinary is not that the MP chose this 'style' but that he probably simply wrote down what he really thinks. The quick decision of the leader of the True Finns Timo Soini to propose Halla-aho's suspension shows that he has understood the situation, but also perhaps that things are coming to a head. This confrontation within the party does not come as a surprise and probably won't end here."
