In March 1969, near to the University of Warsaw, Polish students flee from the police. The student protest was denounced and condemned as "anti-socialist" behaviour: about 20,000 students were expelled from the university.

At a four-way summit in Damascus, French President Nicolas Sarkozy discussed the Middle East conflict and the nuclear dispute with Iran with his counterparts from Syria, Qatar and Turkey.
