Royal dynasties in Europe
Since 1917, the Windsors have reigned in Great Britain. Queen Elizabeth II has been Head of State in the monarchy since 1952. At the same time, she is the official Head of the Church of England, the established English church. The monarch has very little influence on political daily business. She officially appoints and discharges the Prime Minister after the elections and opens the Parliament. Photo: AP
