A clandestine organisation is breaking into French historical buildings

Clarisse Fabre is amused by the exploits of a Parisian organisation that slips into historical buildings during the night and is today pursued by the law. "Its name smacks of a German underground movement, but it is nothing of the sort: Untergunther is an utterly meaningless, invented word. It designates a clandestine group based in Paris, which seeks to 'restore invisible parts of national heritage'. Between September 2005 and September 2006, several members of this organisation entered the Pantheon -unbeknownst to the administration- with the intention of repairing its clock. ... They spent their evenings and free time after work there. They even received mail there... ... In France, there is no law against the illegal entering into a national monument. There is a loophole in the justice system."
