Is journalism a victim of blogs?
In just a few years, blogs have achieved greater credibility. In the United States, numerous dailies are embracing the phenomenon and inviting their readers to participate. Some see in this the death knell of the printed press. The journalist Anna Masera, worried about this evolution, sought the opinion of the managing editor of 'Corriere della Sera', Paolo Mieli, who believed a few years back that the Internet was just a passing fad. "Blogs are an incentive and a gold mine for journalists who are always in search of information and multiple sources. But they are still too wild, a big mess. You have to make a real effort to find something valuable in them. I am not at all worried about this. The secret of the printed press is that it offers quality. ... We will survive, just as we survived the advent of films and television."
