Europe's far-right incapable of uniting
Only ten months after its creation, the European parliamentary group 'Identity, Tradition, Sovereignty (ITS)', which united European far-right parties, was dissolved on November 14th after continual quarrelling between MEPs from different states. "How are you supposed to get on with foreigners when you spend all day preaching against the foreign enemy ?", comments Pascal Martin with a touch of irony. "Several attempts to federate them had failed. When the ITS group was formed in January, we were disenchanted. ... Over the past months, the 'quality' of the ITS' parliamentary work surprised us more than once. We were no longer dealing with Le Pen-style loudmouth outbursts and diatribes, but politics played by the rules of the game, not without tactical and judicial intelligence. Thankfully, the far-right in its various forms has a singular ability to quarrel and explode in a clatter."
