On February 4th, Franco Marini, president of the Italian senate, gave up on trying to form a transitional government whose mission would have been to revise electoral law. Early elections are thus due to be organised for this April, to the despair of Edmondo Berselli. Berlusconi and his allies will do all they can to avoid being labelled as 'breakers', who, out of sheer electoral greed, did not seize the opportunity to modify the political rules. It is perfectly clear that the centre-right has sabotaged, almost unanimously, Franco Marini's attempt ... . "
