Vaclav Havel on the hunt for investors

In a speech held at the "Forum for young Elites" in Prague, former Czech President Vaclav Havel criticised the central European countries' "frantic hunt" for investors. "Our cities are surrounded by industrial estates which we are trying to sell off to foreigners as if we were prostitutes. When, after five years, the investor decides to move to Pakistan because salaries are cheaper there, there will be no fields left, no meadows, no woods, no villages, no cities. All that will remain as a legacy of our short-sightedness will be a huge post-modern void."
